Shakri bin Wahab is a proud member of the Temiar tribe and the Team Leader of the AP Korbu Patrolling Team under RIMAU, where he works to protect wildlife and monitor biodiversity in the Korbu Forest Reserve. Raised with a deep connection to the forest, Shakri blends traditional indigenous knowledge with modern conservation tools to safeguard the critically endangered Malayan tiger—a species revered by his community. Since joining RIMAU in 2023, his efforts have not only supported conservation but also uplifted his community through new opportunities, cultural pride, and the preservation of indigenous wisdom. Shakri is dedicated to ensuring that both the forest and his people can continue to flourish in harmony.
