Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr Mohd Azmi Omar is the President and CEO of INCEIF University, a global leader in Islamic finance education. Formerly Director-General of the Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) under the Islamic Development Bank Group, he pioneered impactful policy research and led strategic initiatives like the IRTI Islamic Social Finance Report and the IDB-World Bank Global Report on Islamic Finance. He has advised multiple countries on Islamic finance development and contributed to national masterplans for Indonesia and Kazakhstan. Prof. Azmi serves on several advisory panels and Shariah committees, including Bank Rakyat, Etiqa Takaful, and MUFG Bank (Malaysia), and is President of both the International Council of Islamic Finance Educators (ICIFE) and the International Association for Islamic Economics (IAIE). He has been honored with numerous awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award in Islamic Economics and Finance. He holds a PhD in Finance and is a Fellow of Chartered Professional in Islamic Finance.
