Nurul Izzah Anwar
Nurul Izzah Anwar is the Executive Chairperson of POLITY, a think tank focused on social justice, inclusive economic growth, and evidence-based reform. She also serves as Strategic Advisor to the Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC) and Advisor to Malaysian Humanitarian Aid and Relief (MAHAR). A three-term Member of Parliament for Permatang Pauh, she has been instrumental in Malaysia’s reform movement since co-founding the People’s Justice Party (KEADILAN) in 1999. A vocal advocate for democratic reform and human rights, she has tabled multiple Private Member’s Bills on key civil liberties and socioeconomic issues. Nurul Izzah holds a Master’s in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from UNITEN. Her on-ground initiatives have included women’s empowerment programs, mental health support, and multidimensional poverty research in her constituency, often in collaboration with NGOs and academic institutions.
