Neelam Chhiber
Neelam Chhiber is the Co-Founder and Managing Trustee of Industree Foundation, a pioneering organization working at the nexus of equity, climate, and gender. With over three decades of experience, she has empowered vulnerable women and youth in India by building self-owned collective enterprises integrated into sustainable and regenerative value chains. Under her leadership, Industree has impacted over 600,000 lives, tripling incomes in non-farm sectors by connecting traditional skills with contemporary markets. The foundation’s bamboo sector initiatives have led to India’s first FSC-FM certification for smallholder farmers. Collaborating with the National Rural Livelihood Mission and multiple state missions, Industree is scaling efforts to reach one million women across 14 states, leveraging over a billion USD in government resources. Neelam’s contributions have been widely recognized through prestigious awards from NITI Aayog, the World Economic Forum, and Economic Times, among others, for her leadership in social entrepreneurship and inclusive development.
