Melisa Melina Idris is a seasoned journalist with 18 years of experience across newswire, print, online, radio, and television platforms. She currently serves as Assistant Vice President, Lead Editor & Anchor at Astro Awani, where she hosts flagship English programmes like Consider This and The Future Is Female. Previously, she was Executive Producer and Anchor at BFM89.9, Malaysia’s only independent radio station. Melisa has interviewed world-renowned figures including UN officials, Nobel laureates, and global political leaders. She holds a Master’s in Journalism from the University of New South Wales and a degree in Economics, Public Administration, and Politics from the University of Malaya. A recipient of the prestigious Wolfson Press Fellowship at the University of Cambridge, she researched post-truth media and disinformation.
