Lara Ariffin is the Co-founder and President of RIMAU, an NGO focused on protecting the critically endangered Malayan Tiger. Since 2018, she has led community-based conservation efforts, notably empowering Orang Asli patrol teams like the Menraq in Royal Belum, who received the 2023 IUCN WCPA International Ranger Award. RIMAU also advances indigenous education through teacher training and literacy programs. Lara is also one of Malaysia’s most accomplished documentary producers, with work featured on National Geographic, History Channel, and Channel News Asia. Her notable productions, including Malaysia’s Last Tigers and Layar Liar, underscore her commitment to environmental storytelling and advocacy for wildlife conservation.
