Dato Hamdan Abdul Majeed
Hamdan Abdul Majeed is a visionary urbanist, investment banker, and venture builder dedicated to advancing inclusive and sustainable city development. He is the Managing Director of Think City, an impact organization he founded in 2009 under Khazanah Nasional Berhad, focusing on people-centric, resilient, and liveable urban solutions. A graduate in Economics and Management from the University of London, Hamdan began his career in investment analysis and capital markets advisory before leading strategic investments at Khazanah’s regional office. He played a pivotal role in the revitalization of George Town into a UNESCO World Heritage Site and contributed to Penang’s urban transformation through the Penang 2030 initiative. Internationally recognized for his leadership in urban innovation, Hamdan has received the Eisenhower Fellowship, the Creative Bureaucracy Festival Award, and is a BMW Foundation Responsible Leaders Fellow. He is also co-author of Cities, People & The Economy, a key reference in Malaysia’s urban development discourse.
