Executive Director, BRAC Bangladesh

Asif Saleh is the Executive Director of BRAC Bangladesh, bringing over two decades of leadership experience across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. Since joining BRAC in 2011 and becoming its chief executive in 2019, he has spearheaded strategic growth, forged impactful partnerships, and strengthened the organization’s operational and financial sustainability. Prior to BRAC, Asif served as a policy specialist with UNDP’s Access to Information (A2i) Program and held senior roles at Goldman Sachs, Glaxo Wellcome, IBM, and Nortel. He serves on the boards of BRAC Bank, bKash, EDOTCO Bangladesh, and chairs BRAC IT Services Limited. Recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2013 and an Asia 21 Fellow, Asif is also a non-resident fellow at the Center for Global Development. He holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from North Carolina State University and an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business.

With roots in Melaka and Penang, Kelingkan reflects the finesse and grace of Malay craftsmanship. As part of its mission to preserve Malaysia’s intangible cultural heritage, Yayasan Hasanah is working with artisans and cultural groups to revive this fading art form. Join our workshop to learn the intricate technique of Kelingkan and be part of preserving a piece of our cultural legacy!

Telepuk is a stunning traditional Malay textile art that features intricate gold leaf or metallic motifs pressed onto fabric, once reserved for royalty and special ceremonies.
