Anne B. Lasimbang is the Founder and Executive Director of PACOS Trust, a Sabah-based community organization focused on empowering rural indigenous communities in Malaysia through sustainable development. With over 30 years of grassroots advocacy, she has ensured that community needs shape the philanthropic and developmental agenda. Under her leadership, PACOS has become a respected bridge between indigenous voices and funding partners, both locally and internationally. Anne spearheaded the establishment of 25 Rural Community Learning Centres across Sabah, offering early education access to indigenous children in remote areas. A strong advocate for environmental sustainability, she integrates cultural values with livelihood initiatives, promoting ecological stewardship among indigenous communities. Holding a Master’s in Counseling and Moral Education from the University of Hull and a B.Sc. from UKM, Anne is recognized for her deep commitment to inclusive, community-led development that prioritizes transparency, dignity, and cultural preservation.

Kelingkan is a delicate traditional Malay embroidery technique that uses fine metallic threads to create shimmering floral and geometric motifs, often on shawls or veils worn during weddings and special occasions. With roots in Melaka and Penang, Kelingkan reflects the finesse and grace of Malay craftsmanship. As part of its mission to preserve Malaysia’s intangible cultural heritage, Yayasan Hasanah is working with artisans and cultural groups to revive this fading art form. Join our workshop to learn the intricate technique of Kelingkan and be part of preserving a piece of our cultural legacy!

Telepuk is a stunning traditional Malay textile art that features intricate gold leaf or metallic motifs pressed onto fabric, once reserved for royalty and special ceremonies.
